In September 2004 the TUFC Board of Directors approved the completion and distribution of Tool Boxes to help communities initiate and develop their urban forestry issues and interests. A Base Box was designed to include basic references, hardware and software, and some standard equipment that everyone would need.

The Inventory Box, the City Forester/Tree Board Box, and the Utility Box have additional equipment, hardware and software as is appropriate to those interests.
